The Wi-Fi was a nightmare. We couldn’t watch a movie on our subscriptions because the connection was so bad, and mobile data would have been better. The rooms also aren’t soundproof. One night we could hear a couple having an intimate moment at midnight. Putting something on YouTube helped a lot, haha. We stayed for two nights. The place was very clean, and the instructions for getting into the house and our room were clear. Our bathroom was across the room, which was okay, though I think an en suite would have been nicer. The bathroom itself was clean and nice. The location is great, with coffee shops, restaurants, shops, lovely walks and a big Tesco nearby. I don’t regret staying, but I don’t think I’d choose it next time I’m in the area.

The room and shared bathroom were immaculate during my one-night stay for the Cheltenham Festival. The only issue was a small one with a big effect: the window blind was broken, and since the room faced the main road, streetlights made it very bright all night. It also didn’t feel very private.

We were in room 4. It’s smaller than it looks on the website, but comfortable. The road right outside is busy and can be noisy at times, though that isn’t the hotel’s fault. Across the hall, the private bathroom is very spacious and has a fantastic shower. Just make sure the door shuts properly. We’d stay again.

The bedroom was lovely, with nice touches like fudge, sherry, bottled water, and tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom was across the hallway, but that wasn’t a problem. The only reason I didn’t give five stars was the heavy traffic noise from the very busy road below the room.

The rooms are nicely decorated, but very small. If you’re in one at the front, the road noise is crazy and it’s hard to get a good night’s sleep. This was an average stay and disappointing at £85.50 a night. I’d have accepted it at £50.00. Make sure you choose an en suite room. Otherwise you have to cross the hallway and enter your own private bathroom with a passcode, and there’s nowhere to put your clothes in there. The shower pressure is so strong that water goes everywhere, and you can’t adjust it. In the room, the TV is tiny by today’s standards, the mattress dipped in the middle, and the pillows were flat, which made the stay uncomfortable. There’s hardly any space to spend time in the room, and it feels almost claustrophobic.
