The room was spacious, spotless, and very well equipped, with a big TV and a really comfy bed. The grounds are beautiful, and there’s plenty of parking. The owner, Claire, was welcoming and helpful and made us feel at home. The setting takes your breath away when you arrive. We were also well placed for visiting Melrose.

We stayed for the Melrose Sevens weekend and loved the Coach House. It had a separate sitting room and dining area, which I believe can be shared with other guests, though we had it all to ourselves. The bedroom was superb, with the heating on and a scented candle burning when we arrived. The king size bed was very comfortable, and the lovely duvet was almost too warm. There were plenty of easy to reach plugs, a large wall mounted TV, fluffy towels, lots of toiletries, and a really good hairdryer. The ensuite was perfect. Don and Claire were lovely, accommodating hosts. They even drove us into Melrose on our first night. You can also walk in, or get a taxi for around £4.00. The property sits in beautiful gardens. I can’t recommend The Coach House highly enough if you’re visiting the area.

The only thing I could think of that would improve the stay is making it longer. The setting was beautiful, the bed really comfortable, and the welcome very friendly. Breakfast had whatever you wanted, including fresh eggs from the hens. The owner even gave my sister and her husband a lift to the wedding after they dropped us off. I couldn’t fault the place. Don’t hesitate, this is the one to choose.

If you’re travelling from a distance for an early appointment at Borders General Hospital, this place is extremely convenient. We found it very welcoming and comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely B&B. The house is beautifully decorated, the bedroom was comfortable, and the hosts were kind, helpful, and very friendly. One of the nicest breakfasts I’ve had.
