Crown Hotel

I had to stay around the next day while my daughter was at Longcross Studios until 4pm, and the 'work from pub' deal was ideal: £15 for unlimited tea and coffee plus a sandwich from the menu, which was amazing. I got a fair bit of work done in a relaxed, comfortable pub. A few beers would have made it even better! Everyone on staff was friendly and really helpful. The night before was great too. The room was lovely, breakfast was great, and the location worked well for an early start taking my daughter to Longcross. We enjoyed the experience enough that we’re considering a family break after Christmas to explore the area for a couple of days, and have a few drinks this time. Thanks again!

We’ll be back next time we visit friends. We usually stay at The Bridge Hotel, also part of Youngs, but this was our first two-night stay here and it won’t be our last. Room 49 was huge and very comfortable, with a clean space, a large bed, tea and coffee facilities, a great big shower and good-quality toiletries. Breakfast both mornings had plenty to choose from, including cooked options, cereal and pastries. There was lots of coffee, which I appreciated since other hotels often only allow one cup. Jack was pleasant and made sure we had everything we needed. The young woman with long dark hair at reception when we arrived Friday 28th Nov was also friendly and helpful, and nothing seemed too much trouble for the staff we met. The hotel is right in the town centre, with what you need close by and the motorway not too far away. Thank you.

We had the pepperoni pizza and chicken pie. The portions were generous, and the food was pretty decent for a pub. I’d like to try their famous roast next time. Jacob was ever so helpful and attentive, especially since he was handling the whole service himself that night. We dropped in during quiz night, when seating and table service were limited. We were first placed by the bar, then Jacob came back shortly after and offered us a table with table service. We later found out we had to pay for it, though the menu clearly says that applies to tables of four or more and there were just two of us.

Serena was friendly and attentive at dinner, and greeted us again at breakfast. We had a lovely three-course meal and several drinks within the £30 allowance per person. The pastries and continental options at breakfast were excellent, the coffee was good, and the orange juice was nice. My husband had the full cooked breakfast, and I had eggs Florentine, the best I’ve ever tasted. Everything was hot and delicious. We were there for one night for a family gathering. Room 48 was spacious, warm and clean. We both slept very well, though the bed felt a little hard for my liking. The shower was hot and powerful, and there was a nice choice of bathroom products.
