The family quad room had plenty of room even with all our luggage and shopping from Cheshire oaks, and the beds were soft and gave us a great night’s sleep. Check-in was quick and easy, and we were shown the shops and some recommended places to eat. The rooms were spotless. Breakfast was buffet-style, with freshly cooked fried or scrambled eggs and plenty to choose from, including cereal, pastries and a full English. There were lots of hot drinks in the room, plus a small kitchenette with a coffee and ice machine. It’s also handy for Cheshire oaks, the zoo and more. We had an excellent stay and would recommend it and come back.

We’d definitely stay here again next time we’re in Chester. It was easy to get a taxi into the centre, and breakfast was really nice. The room was cosy, very clean and had a great shower. The little treats with the tea and coffee were a lovely touch. As soon as we came through the front door, we felt at home. Since it was Christmas, the tree and decorations looked beautiful. We were told the place was fully booked that weekend, which says a lot. I can’t remember the name of the woman on reception, Ray’s partner, but I did manage to get the dress from Florence and Company in the end ☺️

The rooms were a good size, with a TV and make-up area, and I found the bed comfortable and clean. Breakfast came out hot and quickly. Some people complain about the coffee, but if you want barista-quality coffee, go to an artisan coffee shop rather than a small hotel just outside Chester. The location is great and there’s a good-sized car park. I loved the hotel’s style, a fun mix of quirky and traditional, and I really enjoyed staying here enough to leave a review. Our check-in felt a bit rough around the edges and wasn’t the first impression we’d hoped for. The same manager was lovely at checkout, though, so perhaps it was just a bad day. A few signs pointing to reception and around the hotel would help, since finding the right desk was a bit tricky at first. Those are very minor things. Some complaints I’ve seen seem a bit odd, like the temperature. I just turned the radiator off when I arrived and back on before leaving. I can’t comment on the other issues, since things may have been different for those guests. My own stay was pleasant, and I’d return. Thanks.

The owner was a nice man, and we enjoyed chatting with him on several occasions. The staff and reception team were kind and helpful, happy to sort out food recommendations, drinks, ice and even some crisps. We spent two nights here and can’t recommend it highly enough. Our room was beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. We can’t wait to come back. Kay an Matt
