Grosvenor Pulford Hotel Spa

The meat was very nicely done, and the staff were attentive. We had a big table for the festive menu, with a very good atmosphere and service. The main letdown was the vegetables: there wasn't enough roast veg as a side, and most guests didn't feel even 75% full after two or three courses. For a Christmas menu, we expected more vegetables.

The afternoon tea was delicious, one of the best we've had, and reasonably priced. We came for the festive tea rather than an overnight stay, and the venue looked lovely and Christmassy. The staff were friendly and attentive without hovering, and were right there when we needed them. We had a fantastic time and can't wait to come back.

I paid nearly £550 for a family New Year party and came away really disappointed. The food was cold and not the quality I'd expect from GROSVENOR. The vegetable snacks had run out by the time we got food, the pizza was like a log and wasn't edible, and the chicken strips my little boy wanted were gone. They didn't bring any more. The dessert choice was limited too, with only two options, and I would have expected tea or coffee on the house at the end. The party itself was a letdown as well. The chairs were uncomfortable, the DJ seemed uninterested and leaned against the wall, and the music was terrible. I could overlook the music, but there was no countdown or Happy New Year shoutout at midnight. With my kids and friends who also had kids, that's not what we expected. We'd heard a lot about this lovely hotel, and the name was part of why we booked. I wanted to have fun with my children, but I won't pay that much for a party again.

The room was beautiful and the shower was fantastic. Dinner was exceptional too. We had salmon followed by a cheese board, one of the best meals we've had, so high praise to the chefs. Breakfast filter coffee was really good, and I like my coffee. A big thank you to everyone we dealt with, starting with Samana, who welcomed us. I hope I spelled that right. Special praise to the dinner serving staff, especially our server who was studying aerospace engineering at uni. The service was great. A few small downsides: the pool was quite cold, the Wi-Fi was patchy in our room, and, as other reviews have mentioned, people coming back late from functions made a lot of noise. Apart from those things, we had a wonderful stay and will most certainly be back. Thanks again.
