The Forge could draw me back on its own. The steak was incredible and the rest of the food delicious. I even heard Ryan Reynolds had been there for the steak while he was in Wrexham! I spent 12 nights at Indigo in Chester this February (2026), visiting from Australia. I grew up in Chester and know the city centre hotels pretty well, including The Grosvenor, Leonardo and Oddfellows. This stay beat my experiences at those places by a mile, and I’d happily return. After 24 hours of flying, I arrived early and was checked in quickly, with no wait for my room. Sophie at the desk was lovely. The interior feels warm and stylish, with a welcoming lobby and bar beside the destination restaurant. My room was bright, spacious and spotless, and the huge mattress may have been the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on. The amenities were all there, and soft drinks and snacks were included and topped up daily. Everyone was so friendly, including the room service team. Nothing seemed like a hassle: ice arrived within minutes and room service took about 15 minutes. The whole team were upbeat, articulate and kind. I overheard staff helping other guests while I waited for my Uber and thought what a lovely group Indigo has. It’s about an eight-minute walk to Chester station and the same into town. Grosvenor park and the river Dee are next door, and Waitrose, M&S, Boots, Primark and Starbucks are around a five-minute walk away. Thanks for a lovely stay!

The team looked after us so well at breakfast the next day, thanks to Hein. We had a delicious dinner the night before, and special thanks to Chloe, Steph, Liam, Shaun, Sophie, Luke and Chris. They all had smiles on their faces and clearly cared. Most of the staff were amazing. We were there for one night to meet friends. The hotel is lovely, and within walking distance of the Main Street and tourist spots. Our room was clean and lovely too, thanks to Pauline and Gary. Definitely recommend it, we had a lovely stay.

Our room was gorgeous and kept spotless, and the staff were so welcoming and helpful. It’s a beautiful hotel. Make sure you try breakfast, it set us up nicely for the day.

My partner and I stayed one night, and the hotel made it feel really special. Everyone was kind and helpful, and Liam the bartender was especially lovely. He was charismatic, made us delicious cocktails and shared an espresso martini recipe that I’m excited to try. The hotel was also very accommodating with all our requests. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The balcony made a real difference when I stayed in a top-floor room once, with great views. Rooms are comfortable, spotless and thoughtfully arranged. The decor is distinctive and Chester-themed, a bit out there at first, but it’s grown on me. I’ve stayed here about half a dozen times over the past few years and have consistently been impressed. The minibar is free and well stocked with beer, wine, still and sparkling water. The hotel’s beside a lovely park and only a few minutes from the city centre. Staff are always friendly and helpful, and there’s always someone at reception. I’d highly recommend it.
