We ate here on Friday evening. The pub was mostly full, but service stayed friendly and efficient. The food was excellent, freshly prepared and very tasty, with just-right portions. I’d happily eat here again.

Mulberry Cottage was lovely for our family, with plenty of space for two adults and two children. The kitchen was well equipped, the small patio had a table and chairs, the shower was nice, and there was even a dedicated parking space. Breakfast had a good selection, and the Sunday roast was superb: tender meat, tasty gravy and a hit of cauliflower cheese. Service was great, and Jess was very good. The Royal Oak is a beautiful pub tucked away in East Lavant. We’d recommend it and return. Thank you 🙏

Flint Cottage is separate from the pub, delightful and nicely decorated. The downstairs living and kitchen area was very comfortable, and upstairs there’s a comfy king-size bed and fireplace. The modern bathroom has a ceiling Daisy shower that could fit two people 😁. I forgot to bring a shower cap, which would have been a nice addition to the wonderful range of toiletries. The cottage would be very romantic for a wedding night or anniversary away from a hotel. The pub is welcoming, with excellent staff, and the setting is perfect for walkers and dog walkers. Breakfast has an extensive menu, including gourmet dishes as well as the usual English breakfast. I had delicious Eggs Benedict. I also noticed the orange juice was fresh, and the

The lunch food was really delicious, and the setting was very pleasant, with a friendly team. The pub is cosy, has a good selection of beer and wine, and offers a varied, enticing lunch menu. There’s plenty of parking just across the road. The frustrating part was the very slow food service: in a pretty much empty pub, we waited an hour after sitting down for our main course. They apologised, which I appreciated, but it took the shine off the meal.

Alice was excellent as our server, happy to help and nothing seemed like too much trouble. We visited with family and felt welcome straight away. With the fire on, the pub had a lovely atmosphere and a real homely feel. We ordered drinks, sat at a table and ordered dinner. We enjoyed our evening and will certainly return. Five stars for The Royal Oak and five for Alice 🙂
