HYLL Hotel

We had a lovely stay at Hyll, with friendly staff who clearly put effort into making things enjoyable. The building is beautiful, set on top of a hill, and inside there are stylish rooms and comfortable lounges. There are great walks from the door, and the restaurant and breakfast were good. Our room, number 2, was above a lounge, so the soundproofing wasn't great when other guests stayed up late and made quite a bit of noise. It was Saturday night, and I suspect rooms on the higher floors wouldn't have the same issue. The staff responded quickly when I mentioned it. There's also a good two-hour circular walk from the door, the Charingworth circular, which you can find on the free OS maps app. Cafes, pubs and restaurants are a short drive away.

The breakfast was one of the best we've had in a hotel, cooked beautifully with great quality ingredients. We slept brilliantly in a very comfortable room, and our dog was looked after too. The sausage at breakfast for the dog was a thoughtful touch. Staff were attentive all the way through, especially Steph, who was helpful, knew her stuff and made us feel welcome. We'd happily recommend Hyll Hotel and will definitely return.

We stayed in one of the lovely courtyard rooms with a lounge, and the room was stunning. The amenities and little touches felt carefully thought out. The hotel's idea of "to do nothing" really works here. There are three lounge areas where you can relax by the open fire in the evening or have a drink before dinner. The staff were wonderful and knew the products and their work well. I have an allergy, and they handled it easily. Before I even arrived, they'd checked with the Chef about what I could eat from the menu. I would absolutely recommend this place for a relaxing break in the Cotswold's. Thanks to Stuart, the general manger, for being so helpful from the start to the end of our stay.

We had a lovely time interacting with Lara and Arthur. They were always kind and helpful, and gave us suggestions for nearby hikes. The location was ideal, the service was great and our room was fantastic. We stayed for two weekend nights, and even arrived to classical music playing on the radio from a BBC station, which felt dreamy. The staff also accommodated our request to have dinner after half past eight, as we were getting back late without having eaten.
