Breakfast was a real treat: smoked salmon with scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, toast, and a cafetière of strong coffee, all brought out by such friendly staff. I stayed one night in a Courtyard room at The Old Brewhouse. It was peaceful, and the king-size bed had a lovely soft mattress and pillows. The room was modern and spacious, with a large walk-in shower and fluffy white towels. Getting around was easy for me with my two sticks. I had everything I needed and would happily recommend The Old Brewhouse.

Breakfast was a highlight, with great food and staff who were polite, cheerful, and enthusiastic. The rest of the stay was good too, apart from Room 1. It sits right by the road and a traffic light, and the noise is really bad. If you’re given that room, ask to switch as soon as you arrive. It’s a BnB, so they send instructions after booking about check-in, the gates, and parking.

I slept better than I have in weeks, and the bedrooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was amazing, plentiful, and cooked to order. The ladies who make and serve it were wonderful. There’s a lovely courtyard for relaxing with a drink, plus free parking, and it’s only a five-minute walk into the centre of Cirencester. This BnB is a real gem. I’d highly recommend it and hope to come back.

The Old Brewhouse feels like home, so I’ll be back every year. It’s my favourite place in Cirencester, and I’ve never had a better breakfast in the UK. A lovely place to sleep.

Room 4 felt suffocating, and the whole stay was terrible. It was a tiny room in the eaves, reached by several flights of stairs, with a bathroom about the size of an airplane toilet. I’m 5ft 4in and hit my head twice on the beams over the bed. The rail for three garments was tucked into an alcove behind the bed, bedside table, and lamp, so getting to it meant climbing over things. It wasn’t quaint or cute. There was no one to talk to, either. We arrived at the time stated in the email and found the place deserted. Another guest let us in; after I waited a while and called the owner, we were told our room was Room 4. We left the next day before breakfast.
