OYO Pier Hotel

Becky was friendly, supportive, and clearly hardworking. The hotel is also well placed, close to the seafront, Clacton Pier, and the town centre.

After a well-known local hotel let me down, I booked here at short notice. Becky was helpful right from the start. I can't remember the room's name, but it was number 10, clean, and had everything I needed. I only stayed one night and would definitely come back.

Our Superior Double, the bridal suite, was spacious and had a big bed, a sofa, and a bathroom with both a shower and a bath. The outside area had a table and chairs, plus sun loungers we couldn't use because of the weather. There were thoughtful extras too, including several choices of shower gel, bubble bath, and lotion. We were greeted by a lovely woman at reception who showed us to the room. We got lucky with one of the hotel's two parking spaces, though at busy times you'd need to park elsewhere. The only thing we missed was proper clothes storage: there was just a rail, and not enough hangers. It didn't bother us much, since everything else was spot on. The pier is about 30 seconds away and the town is a couple of minutes' walk. We heard no noise from the room apart from the seagulls, which you'd expect by the seafront. We'd definitely recommend a stay.

We came down to see family, and the location worked perfectly, with everything we needed close by. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the room was spotless and quiet. After a day of travelling, it was lovely to sink into a comfortable bed, relax, and watch TV. I can't remember the last time I slept so well. We'd book again.
