Breakfast was amazing, especially the local sausages, some of the best we’ve had. Megan, the owners’ daughter, served us and brought so much joy to the mornings. She’s such a sweet little princess. She played a lot with Ella our Bichon Frise, and even peeled the sausage skin for her, such a thoughtful, adorable thing to do. The location is beautiful, and the whole stay felt relaxed and personal. This is a wonderful family-run place where we felt warmly welcomed and cared for from the moment we arrived. We couldn’t have asked for more and would happily return. Thank you for making our stay so memorable! Sylwia, Stefan and Ella 🐾

Breakfast is ordered the night before through a website link, with a good range to choose from and generous portions. I recommend the porridge. The owners are kind and considerate, and clearly work hard to make the stay comfortable. There’s tea and coffee in the rooms and lounge, an honesty bar, plus books and board games. Rooms 1, 6 and 7 were clean and nicely decorated, with great views. This lovely B&B overlooks Bassenthwaite Lake and has plenty of parking.

Ben and Virginia, thanks for all your help and hospitality. They thought of everything we needed for our walking getaway, from beginning to end. The B+B has wonderful views of the lake and mountains, and the breakfast email with its suggestions was a breath of fresh air. It was a very well thought-out way to choose the breakfast you feel like having. Such a lovely family running an amazing place.

The views over the lake and Skiddaw are fabulous, and the guests’ lounge is a great place to spread out and relax if you spend an evening in. Ben and Virginia are really friendly and almost always on hand if you need help. Breakfast is top notch, freshly made with lots of choice. Ouse Bridge House was a great stay for us because we were visiting friends nearby. It’s quiet, has plenty of parking on site, and direct access to the A66 makes the rest of the National Park and North Cumbia easy to reach.

Virginia and Ben made us very welcome, thank you both for the lovely service. It’s a homely place to stay, and breakfast is top notch with so many choices. We’ll definitely recommend it.
