The place has a chic look and tasteful decor, with a cosy feel that never seemed cramped. We had a delicious Sunday lunch, beautifully cooked and presented. It's one of our favourite haunts, and the staff are friendly, helpful and very professional. Would highly recommend.

The restaurant and food are always excellent, but I was very disappointed with the double room and wouldn't return. It was overpriced, small and dingy, with furniture squeezed in, dated decor and some bulbs not working. The ensuite was tired and so cramped I couldn't sit straight on the toilet. There was a tea and coffee tray but no milk, and no phone because there were no staff overnight. Check-in was at the restaurant bar, and only the bar staff showed me to the room.

The atmosphere is always pleasant and cosy, and the staff are lovely. The food is excellent too. I've been many times, including yesterday, when I went with my elderly in-laws for a table of four. It's a fabulous restaurant and my favourite in Essex. No complaints at all, top quality.

We came for a meal and left underwhelmed. At least one of us had a lovely steak, and the service was good, though there were a few mistakes that staff sorted out quickly and efficiently. Something seems off, including their Guinness. I wouldn't rush back, but maybe they'd have things sorted if we gave it another try.

Warm, cosy atmosphere, excellent service and a lovely meal today. The food was very tasty and nicely presented. I'd highly recommend it.
