Whitethorn Bed And Breakfast

Breakfast was heavenly, with lots of choice to suit all sorts of tastes. We also had a lovely surprise: an adjoining bedroom for our 9-year-old. It’s about an easy 15-minute walk along a public footpath through fields to the nearest pub, The Egerton Arms. A beautiful place to stay, thoroughly recommend it.

The owner texted the night before our booking to say she couldn’t honour it and wanted me to cancel. It seemed like a scam, so I asked her to contact me through booking.com. She eventually did, but kept insisting that I cancel, even though I could have been charged the whole bill. She didn’t answer the phone until the next morning, when I called from a different number. I did get a refund, but this was the worst customer service I’ve had from any hotel. At no point did she explain why she couldn’t honour my booking.

Our room was more like a suite, really spacious, airy and super clean. Breakfast was gorgeous, with plenty of tea and toast to keep even the fussiest person happy. We were here for one night for a wedding in the area and had a great experience. The staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful. We’d definitely return and can 100% recommend it.

It’s easy to get to, but still tucked away, and you’re free to do your own thing. We were there with a toddler, and the space and surroundings made things really easy. It was lovely and quiet. We loved breakfast, with quality produce and great coffee. Can’t go wrong!
