The room we ended up in was barely any better. It was a 36-degree heatwave, with no fan and no air conditioning anywhere on site. Worst sleep of my life. We'd had a six-hour drive from Leicestershire and our Airbnb let us down, so we stopped around 1am or 2am. We were given two rooms because the first was incredibly dirty, with mould in the bathroom, holes in the curtains and blood on one of the bed sheets. The customer service team refunded the booking the next day after we sent pictures and explained how bad the stay was. Then in November, Horizon Parking started chasing us because our registration hadn't been entered in the system, even though our booking included free parking. The receptionist took the registration and checked us in, so anyone would assume parking was sorted. Apparently that was just for the invoice. After three phone calls to the Bodmin Premier Inn, the manager said there was a tablet somewhere where we were supposed to enter the registration. It wasn't at reception, and nobody asked or prompted us to do that, which seems like basic customer service. At 2am, exhausted after a six-hour drive, we didn't see an iPad, and the booking just said free parking with no instructions. Now we're relying on the manager to sort it out and prove our booking to Horizon Parking. The customer service and hotel quality were below par, to say the least. I won't stay at a Premier Inn again. Avoid it for your own mental sanity. Awful, please avoid!

The best part of my stay was actually the nearby kfc, just a short walk away. Those 11 herbs and spices perfected it for me. The room was clean and quiet, breakfast was delicious and the staff were great. Absolutely stunning stay, no complaints. 10/10, would recommend!

Reception staff were welcoming, and the bedroom had plenty of space. The hotel itself was perfect, can't knock it. The downside was the Wi-Fi in my ground-floor room. I couldn't get roaming data, so I connected to Premier Inn Wi-Fi, but it was extremely slow.

There was hair in the bath, brown marks on the towels, and towels had been left on the floor and over the shower rail before I entered the room. The lights didn't work either. I asked reception for bulbs and was told, “don't know where they are kept.” The heating was broken, and I was told it “had been like that for a few week bud had no complaints.” There were no other rooms available to move to, so I left for another hotel. Not a pleasant place to stay at all.

The internet was slow. I could scroll through social media, but couldn't video call or watch programmes online without upgrading for £5 for 24 hours. The location was brilliant, with Asda a minute away, food places nearby and lots to do around Bodmin. The science museum, cardiham woods, wildlife park and Eden project were all within 20 minutes. There's food on site at table table too. We had a huge, spotless room for my husband and daughter, with a lovely low bed for her. Reception was really kind and gave us extra towels when needed. Deanne typed a letter for our daughter and gave her a teddy. It made her day, and she was so excited. Thank you so much!
