The hotel serves a great buffet breakfast but no evening meal. On my last visit the restaurant next door was closed, so check ahead if you need to eat before you arrive. The rooms are generally clean, tidy and well presented, and the staff are pleasant and professional.

The breakfast area staff were welcoming when we arrived, and the front-of-house team was helpful too, but I was very dissatisfied with the stay. My friend and I stayed for two nights. After the first night I noticed a small bite on my arm and brushed it off. The next morning I had two more on my stomach, and my friend had one on their ribs. The room looked clean at first, but closer inspection showed it wasn’t well looked after. I think it may have had bed bugs. I’m extremely unhappy.

We stayed for two nights on 6th and 7th December. The room and bathroom were clean and warm, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. We had breakfast one morning, and it was very good and plentiful, well worth the extra cost. The dining staff deserve a special mention. They were lovely and created a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. We enjoyed our stay.

A basic hotel that’s handy if you’re working nearby. Breakfast is available and the service is friendly. There’s no bar or evening meal, but The Crooked Hat is close by for food and drinks.

Really good value for money, with a great breakfast. The chef was especially good, and nothing seemed too much trouble. They’d cook something fresh if you asked.
