The team made our Funnel Training event a success, and we’ve already decided to book with the same hotel chain again next year. We stayed four nights and enjoyed the pool, spa, bar and restaurant. The food was incredible, the atmosphere was welcoming, and our group of business women felt looked after throughout. Michael and Adrian made sure the event had everything it needed, while Kayleigh and Jess kept meals and snacks arriving on time. Crystal, Aud, Ashleigh and Millie at the bar were wonderful. Emelie even helped me put on false eyelashes for the first time, which I won’t forget. Amanda and the housekeeping team kept everything immaculate and were so friendly. Thanks to everyone for taking such good care of us. Fingers crossed the team at Ashleigh on Lyne are just as great.

The staff were especially helpful, particularly Kayleigh, Jess, Milly, Chrystal, Ashley, Adrian and Michael. I was there for a three-day training course, and the conference room was comfortable and well equipped. We ate well throughout the course, and the bar food was good too. My bedroom was comfortable and I slept well. I had a good experience and would recommend staying here.

The front of house team, Aidan & Lewis, quickly helped my family after I made a mistake with the booking. That welcoming service is why I’d stay again. The room was great, and we had a great stay.

The biggest issue was the noise. I could hear people talking and walking in the corridor, doors slamming, the neighbouring TV, and children crying while their parents spoke loudly. I was woken around 7am after a broken night’s sleep. There was also a loud, regular pump noise that kept starting through the night. I think it may have been a water pump or something connected to the toilet, but I’m not sure. The noise from our Neighbours was loud enough that I had already mentioned it to reception. The room problems started on arrival. My partner and I had booked for two, but there was only one set of towels. The room was like a maze to get to, and when I showered, water leaked onto the toilet floor and reached the carpet. I asked to move because the floor was flooded. I have a video of this. We were moved from a club room to a family room, where there were dirty marks on the bedding’s, also shown in a video. Both the room and corridor smelt of weed. It felt like university accommodation, and it wasn’t pleasant. At check-in on 15/01/2025-17/01/2026, the receptionist added a £15 late checkout charge for departure day without my approval. I got an email saying my booking had been updated, then raised it with the manager the next day. It was resolved, but it was frustrating to be charged for a service I hadn’t approved. I also asked reception for oat milk, which they have given me on a previous stay, but was told they couldn’t provide it. The next day, another staff member said they should have just gone to the kitchen and got me some. When I spoke to a manager on day two about the first day’s problems, he listened, but I wasn’t sure how he was making it right. He said, “okay I’ll have to check on the system,” without saying he was sorry I’d had an unpleasant experience. I felt he hadn’t taken my concern seriously on day 1. Andrew and Michael were great and very positive when I spoke to them, so thank you guys. I’ve requested my money back, but let’s see if I hear back 😅

Sam was friendly and courteous when she confirmed my dartboard booking and got us set up. The automatic scoring needed recalibrating twice because darts were registering in the wrong parts of the board, but Sam came over quickly to sort it out. It worked fine after the second adjustment. I booked the board for a friend and me to play for an hour or two, and really enjoyed my first time playing darts at the Pub & Grill. I’ll definitely be back. This review is just about the Pub & Grill at the Village Hotel, Coventry, since Google Maps shows its location in a nearby industrial unit for some reason. Thanks to Sam for being so helpful and pleasant.
