Crowne Plaza London - Gatwick Airport

I was there for a conference, and the meeting room had excellent facilities. The refreshments and lunch were good too. The hotel is handy if you’re driving, though it’s about a 20-minute walk from Crawley train station. The lobby is spacious and welcoming, and there’s a large bar and restaurant with reasonable prices. Other delegates said their rooms were clean but quite cold.

I loved the Christmas decorations in the restaurant, and the hotel was lovely, clean and staffed by friendly people. Breakfast had a nice spread, and dinner was a good portion for the price. Getting there was a bit awkward for me because it was far away and not ideal for public transport, but otherwise it was a lovely stay. I’d definitely recommend it.

The rooms were clean and perfectly adequate for a night before an early Heathrow departure. Parking was good, and we had no noise or disturbance even though we were right at the end of the corridor. The Orangery at the golf course is about a three-minute walk across the way, and serves pretty good Indian food.

If you need a place for an airport flight, bear in mind that you’ll need a shuttle or taxi, especially late at night, and you’ll be paying for it yourself. The Crowne Plaza is not within walking distance of the airport. I booked after a very delayed flight into Gatwick and was led to believe on the phone that the hotel was “at the airport.” I should have checked the map more carefully, but it was disappointing to be told that and then asked for my card details. There are plenty of other airport hotel options, so I’d choose one of those instead.
