Premier Inn Crewe (Nantwich)

We paid £95 for our stay on October 8th. There was a lobby sign saying upgrades were underway and the hotel might not look its best, but the person checking us in said nothing about building work or noise. Since it’s a large hotel, we assumed our room wouldn’t be near the construction. At 8am, drilling and banging started in the rooms right next door and above us. It woke us and carried on until we left. I can’t believe we were charged full price for a room in the middle of all that. We asked for a refund under the Good Night Guarantee, but were told there’d be no refund because the noise was ‘outside quiet hours’. That felt greedy. They should close off wings while loud work is going on, or offer a discounted rate.

The breakfast room was a converted meeting room, so it felt a bit compact, but the server and cook were brilliant. Everything was cooked to order and came out fresh and hot. The room itself was very clean and felt fresh, and they brought extra towels when I asked. Everyone working around the hotel was pleasant and courteous. It’s a great hotel beside a fab pub, though the corridor had an odd smell, a bit like stale air freshener. Still, a great stay.

A few stains on the sheets, maybe permanent even after washing, plus dust and cobwebs on the wall above the bed. The hotel was dated and basic, as expected, but the room generally felt pretty dirty.

Amy at reception was so friendly and helpful, she’s amazing. The hotel’s well located if you don’t mind walking into town. We’ll definitely come back!
