The bed was huge and amazingly comfortable, and the area was very quiet. The room was really cold when we arrived, though, and took a while to warm up. The walls between rooms are paper thin, so we could hear the neighbours talking.

We were impressed by our one-night stay and would happily return. Our large double room and the good-sized bathroom were both absolutely spotless. It was lovely and warm inside, which we appreciated with the awful weather outside, and the big, comfortable bed gave us plenty of room to stretch out. I’d recommend it to others.

Adequate enough, but nothing special. Walkers should know the advertised “drying room” is switched on at the owner’s discretion, depending on how soaked guests are. We arrived drenched after walking from Lomond, but were told we “weren’t wet enough” and that turning it on was “too expensive”. I was dumbfounded.

The room was decent, but we felt we’d paid too much, especially with breakfast not included. We came in the off season and were one of only two guest groups. After arriving drenched, we were counting on the advertised dry room to dry our things, but the woman at the desk said it wasn’t in service and offered newspaper for our boots, which was nowhere near enough. She wasn’t much help. In the end, we called the number in the room and spoke to the owner. He was much more apologetic and came down to help us use their tumble dryer, which was a total lifesaver.
