The food at Anzac was the highlight for us, fresh, full of amazing flavours, and beautifully presented. The chef clearly knows what he’s doing. We also liked the new tapas-style menu, which was explained well, and the wine list was good. The service felt warm and friendly. We were so pleased to find Anzac had reopened when we came back to Dartmouth, so we booked dinner straight away. The cosy interior still has its original atmosphere, just as we remembered. We’ll definitely be back.

There was a talented guitarist playing for the Dart Music Festival, which made the evening even nicer. The food was imaginative and truly delicious, and we’d happily dine here again. It did take a while to arrive, though. The restaurant was fully booked that night, so I’m sure the wait will improve.

We were relaxed about the timing of the small plates and enjoyed the lovely wine while listening to Mick and Lucy. We ordered plenty so we could try as many dishes as we could manage, though the three per person they first recommended is probably about right. The food was first class, fresh, full of flavour and incredibly tasty. Maddie is doing a great job, and we had a lovely evening. We’ll most definitely return. Mick and Lucy were 10 out of 10 too, so please keep having them play at the restaurant! We were glad to see this old favourite had reopened. We got a table on the Friday of the music festival weekend, and the ambience was just as we remembered, with that cosy bistro feel that sets it apart from some other Dartmouth options. The new small-plates, tapas-style approach was explained helpfully, and the dishes could be served and timed to suit us. Just to be clear, this is about dinner at the Bistro restaurant, not the B&B, where we didn’t stay.

The scallops were a lovely start, pan-fried just right, with garlic that complemented their natural sweetness. For the main I had mushroom risotto, creamy and balanced, with rich earthy flavours, and cooked perfectly. Flo quickly suggested a bottle that suited my choices, and the wine selection was excellent. The staff were attentive and knew their stuff, and the place felt cosy but elegant. I had a memorable meal at Anzac Street Bistro, with delicious food and warm hospitality.

The owners were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and had everything we needed, and breakfast was amazing too. Perfect, nothing bad to say, just great!
