The staff were welcoming and really friendly, and the bar has plenty of drinks to choose from. The rooms were superb, with lovely comfortable beds. It’s quiet here, far enough from the city, though Dundee centre is only a 16-minute drive away. The inn is just off the A90, so it’s easy to get to other places too. For breakfast, I recommend the full Scottish: porridge or cereal, followed by a fry-up with Haggis. Absolutely delicious. Would I come back? You better believe it.

Our one night turned into three, thanks to the friendly locals and great staff. Allister, the landlord, was so accommodating and nothing was a problem. Even though the kitchen was closed for New Year’s, Allister and Ovici insisted on cooking us a lovely meal twice. We had a perfect, lovely big room with a bath, haha. We were even invited to the New Year’s party, which was an awesome night and one to remember. We can’t thank you enough and will definitely return on our travels. xxxx

We were only there for one night, and it worked well for us because it’s pet friendly. The village is quiet and the location is great, with amazing, welcoming customer service. The food was okay too. The main downside is that the place is quite old and could do with a good refurbishment, especially the carpets, toilets and furniture.

A great rest stop after a 220-mile ride all around the Cairngorms, which is a 100-mile round trip from the hotel. It’s far from the congested tourist hotspots but close enough, and getting here from the A90 is convenient. For a biker, having a courtyard where I could park my bike was a real plus, as all the rooms face it. The accommodation is simple and full of character. The highlight was the evening lunches in the connected pub and reception, with a comprehensive menu of British classics. Very satisfying.

We had a wonderful day celebrating our Sam’s wedding in Nigeria by video link. The atmosphere was great, the staff were lovely, and the food was authentic Nigerian. This hotel can cater for the kind of occasion you need. xx
