Staybridge Suites Dundee

We walked into town in about ten minutes, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, the bed was great, and I really liked having a mini kitchen as well as the option of room service. It was dog friendly for a small fee, and full breakfast was included. The room got a bit warm, so we turned the heat right down and opened the window. I’d definitely stay again.

The parking lot was full throughout our stay, so we had to park elsewhere and carry our heavy bags to the hotel. The staff seemed to consider that normal. Inside, the room was in poor shape and plainly hadn’t been cleaned properly. We found someone else’s sock under the bedside table, and the bathroom was dirty, rusty and covered in mould, making the shower unpleasant to use. The hotel also looked nothing like its online photos. Breakfast was poor too: limited choices, stale pastries, rotten bananas and slow refills. It felt as if nobody was keeping an eye on cleanliness or service. Expectations and reality were completely different. I can’t recommend it.

The breakfast was a little dry, but it was included in such a good price, so I can’t complain. The rooms were lovely, with a kitchen area and fridge, and the staff were friendly. Great location, plus a restaurant and bar on site. I’ll definitely be back.

We’ve stayed at Hotel Indigo a couple of times, since it’s part of the same complex, and decided to try the Stalybridge Suites this time. When we booked, they were a little cheaper and came with free breakfast. The suite was clean and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen area, comfortable beds and a quiet building. One tip: switch off the bathroom heater, or the suite turns into an oven.
