We had a great time at the York house hotel and will definitely visit again. It’s right above the beach, with gorgeous views from the room, and the town, pier and a local shop for essentials are all a short walk away. Outside the hotel, there’s sheltered seating that made a lovely spot to sit and talk. We were there with a big group for a birthday. Nothing was too much trouble, and the hotel gave us a separate room for our evening meal. We all ordered pizza and chips and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Service was great. The children used the indoor pool a couple of times and loved it. The water was lovely and warm, so it was great for small children. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed, with lots of fresh towels, extra beds and a cot, and still plenty of room. Breakfast was fresh and lovely, with everything you could want. Parking is limited, but the reasonable parking cost is available from the hotel’s main reception. I’d highly recommend this as a place to unwind.

The restaurant menu is excellent and good value, and it was lovely to take an early swim in the indoor pool before breakfast. We had an enjoyable stay, helped by the very friendly, helpful staff. We’ve booked to return later this year.

The rooms are adequate, and we were upgraded to a massive one. It’s an old-fashioned hotel, but it has modern conveniences including free WiFi. The restaurant was nice, the service was great, and Ruby cooked amazing food. Ruby definitely deserves a promotion. Itzia, the maître-d, was so friendly and welcoming, and a joy to talk to. Luba was just as lovely at breakfast, and Anastasia at reception went above and beyond with advice and information. Her customer service was outstanding. The indoor pool was a decent size, very clean and lovely and warm, especially on a cold December day. It’s a good location and a nice place to be, with good food and some extremely lovely staff. We’ll be back in the summer for sure.

The service was excellent, as were the location and amenities. We had a sea-view room, and the view was exactly that, though traffic noise was noticeable, as you’d expect. The rooms are a little tired, but they were lovely and clean. It’s an old building with creaky floors, so not much can be done beyond a lick of paint. The hotel is lovely and friendly, with a great front-of-house team. The pool is a nice extra, but it’s very small compared with the website photos. It can be enjoyable and relaxing if you happen to get in when nobody else is there. There are no showers in the changing rooms. We didn’t try breakfast because of the price and went to a local cafe instead.

There was a slight musty smell in the corridor, but the rest of our stay was spot on. The hotel was ideal for our dog-friendly holiday, and the team looked after us well. Our room was comfortable and perfectly adequate, and breakfast suited our needs. We had a great stay at the York House Hotel and would definitely come again. Thanks to all the staff for making us feel welcome!
