Very good value for the room. Getting there from Edinburgh by bus was easy, and the staff were helpful and easy to reach. Great stay!

The owners are fantastic, accommodating, and so helpful. They really couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was freshly prepared and cooked, with great choices. The place is an easy distance from the city, with bus stops on both sides of the road within a short walk. Bus 43 goes most directly. It would work well for either a short visit or a longer stay, and I'd highly recommend it.

I'd strongly advise against bringing a motorcycle to Edinburgh, where theft is very common. This guesthouse is often targeted by motorcycle thieves, even in the daytime, so don't stay here if you're travelling by bike.

The hosts were lovely. Since we expected to arrive late, they sent a clear email explaining self check-in a few days beforehand. We were two adults and two children in a family room, and there was plenty of space for all four of us. Everyone was pleased with the breakfast choices we ordered in advance. I'm not sure anything on the menu would disappoint! We used Acer Lodge as a base for the zoo and, most of all, the concert we'd been looking forward to at murrayfield. Both were walkable, though buses seemed to run nearby if you needed one. We'd definitely stay again on another Edinburgh trip.

The rooms were clean and the service was nice, with snacks and a hair dryer provided too. For Edinburgh, I thought the guest house was affordable compared with other places. It's a bit out from the city centre: the bus stop is just across the street, a minute's walk away, and the ride takes around 20 minutes at £2 per person. If you're visiting more than one place, a day pass could save you money. It was a great place to stay.
