Angels Share Hotel

We stayed for three nights in mid December. The rooms were comfortable and well equipped, though a few coat hooks would've been useful. Breakfast was okay, but expensive if it wasn't included in your stay. The bar and hotel lounge were very busy while we were there because it was the Christmas period. The location worked well for the airport tram, train access and most of the usual tourist spots, which were easy to walk to. I'd recommend it if you're after a nice, well located hotel in Edinburgh.

The bed and pillows were comfy and fluffy, which was fab, and the staff were friendly. It's on a lovely, quiet street in the city, with a great location and a beautiful bar area. The rooms are small and awkward, and got quite hot at times. We could smell sewerage through the building now and then. The food was average, and the advertised room pictures don't show the true room size.

I've stayed at the hotel and had many meals and drinks, and it's always been fabulous. Today was absolutely dreadful. The starter wasn't what I'd ordered, and I had to ask staff for side plates and cutlery. Service was terrible and the staff seemed totally disinterested. The manager was very nice and cancelled the bill. This was completely different from the usual experience, and I hope it won't happen again. I'm very disappointed, especially as I'd recommended the place to the friends with me. Standards have dropped massively.

The bar and restaurant had a great, relaxed atmosphere, and the staff couldn't do enough for us. It's a fantastic stay, just a stone's throw from Princes Street and within walking distance of Edinburgh city centre and the castle. Recommended!
