Apex Waterloo Place

I treated myself to two nights here for my birthday. A few days before arriving, I was told the pool was out of service. At the hotel they offered to book a return taxi to their sister hotel, about 15 minutes away, if I wanted to use the pool there. They also upgraded my room, which made the trip even better. I had a wonderful view, a great bathroom and amazing sleep in the king-sized bed. The service was lovely from the moment I booked. Apex Waterloo will definitely see me again.

They had a lovely cake waiting in the room for my birthday, which was a really nice gesture. The team also upgraded our room when we arrived. The room itself was lovely, and the location made it easy to get around the city. I’d certainly stay here again if I visit Edinburgh. Thanks to everyone for being so helpful. My partner booked the hotel for my birthday, and the staff were super friendly when we arrived. One small issue: the room was cold. We turned up the thermostat, but it still felt like a draft was coming in.

There’s a nice little selection of complimentary tea, hot chocolate and coffee, and the staff were polite and helpful. The city views are stunning. We also really liked the good-sized pool, sauna and steam room. We’ll definitely be back soon! 😄

We were close to plenty of bars and restaurants, and the hotel is right across the road from where the hop-on hop-off buses start. Everything was within walking distance, a big reason I booked. We didn’t eat at the hotel, so I can’t comment on the food. I stayed from the 3rd-5th January for my husband’s birthday. The staff were welcoming and accommodating, and gave us a complimentary drinks voucher for the in-house bar. When I asked for a room with a bath, they kindly upgraded us to a bigger one. It was stunning, with a balloon and box of chocolates for his birthday. The staff we met were approachable and polite. Thanks for a lovely stay. I’d happily return and recommend it.
