The beds were very clean and comfortable, and so was the bathroom, though the toilet seat was cracked. It’s fine for one night, but I wouldn’t choose it for longer. The location is good, not far from the city, but the place feels ordinary and dated, needs a facelift, and we didn’t get much of a welcome.

The room was a great size and close to the bus services, so it was easy to get around. But the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned when we arrived, and there was a very unpleasant smell throughout the stay. The owner did have housekeeping clean the bathroom straight away, which was good.

It’s in a great spot, just a short walk into Edinburgh town. The rooms are decent for a short stay, though dated. Some repainting or patching would help.

The host was so nice that he offered us an early check-in without us even asking. I was really impressed. The location, price and facilities were all excellent, and we stayed for two days.

The host was wonderful. I arrived almost two hours before check-in, but he made sure the room was ready and let me in without charging extra. It’s hard to find people like him these days. They made the bed and room every day, and both the room and bathroom were very clean. I stayed for a few nights, and the place is very central, within walking distance of Edinburgh Castle. I’d definitely recommend it.
