The Register Club was where we had breakfast, and the service there was attentive and accommodating. The Egg Florentine was extremely good. My sister also enjoyed the chicken breast, while my wild mushrooms risotto was only average. Our loft king suite was spacious for the two of us, and the bathrooms were solidly built, with quality decor and amenities. The bed was comfortable, though the sleeping area stayed a little too warm at night even after I set the heat to its lowest temperature. I asked for a French press for my traditional coffee but didn’t get one. The cleaner did bring the milk I’d requested. I also really appreciated the hotel’s music player, something not every hotel puts in its rooms. As a music lover, thanks for that. I would have rated the Edinburgh Grand five stars if we hadn’t been locked out in the corridor and unable to get into our room for ten minutes. Aside from that, we like this hotel enormously. It’s a pleasant place to stay in wintry, magnificent Edinburgh, and we’ll return if Robert Burns whispers.

The suite was exceptionally well equipped, and the architecture and interior design live up to the Luxury Collection brand. Staff were attentive and dedicated, taking the time to explain the room in detail. Among the Luxury Collection properties in the UK, this hotel shows an impressively high level of service and commitment to members. I’d booked a loft room, but they generously upgraded me to a city-view suite and had a welcome snack prepared. Marriott Bonvoy members also get breakfast as part of the welcome amenity. A really excellent stay, with quality and care throughout.

We were only here for one night for a birthday, but it was a fabulous experience from check-in to checkout. The staff we met were all so friendly and welcoming. The hotel and room were exceptionally clean and very well equipped, with excellent quality linen and toiletries. Breakfast was excellent too, and the staff there were fabulous.

Jo greeted me in the foyer and made me feel instantly welcome, like an old school friend. She was such a professional, kind, helpful, courteous and friendly Concierge. I had the most amazing three nights at this beautiful hotel, and won’t forget how kind the staff were. Ewen was a bartender extraordinaire, too. The room was amazing, and the decor made me say wow. Thanks to everyone who made the stay memorable.

The Register Club became our nightly ritual. The staff there were genuinely lovely, so we kept going back each evening. When we arrived, Lady Libertine just off the lobby was a perfect place to unwind with a drink. Both spots have classic Edinburgh charm with modern comfort. Our family found the room stylish and practical, a real home base. Even the gym seemed brand new, spotless, well equipped and surprisingly inviting for a holiday workout. From check-in onward, the service was exceptional, and the team treated us like regulars. Jo at the front desk deserves a special mention. She’s one of the finest hotel professionals we’ve met, and as Titanium Bonvoy members, we’ve met quite a few. Her kindness and interest in every guest set the tone for our stay. The Edinburgh Grand earns its five stars, though the rating system feels a little inadequate. We can’t wait to return.
