The owner played traditional Scottish music and told stories about Edinburgh's history, a really unique and worthwhile experience that became one of the most unforgettable parts of my trip. I stayed four nights on a solo visit and chose this place because hotels in Edinburgh are generally expensive and I wanted somewhere reasonably priced. It's about a 10-minute walk to Edinburgh Castle, and I found it a great base for seeing central Edinburgh, including the Old Town and New Town. Thank you very much.

The traditional music in the evenings, along with films about Edinburgh and Scotland, historical summaries and useful information, really added to our visit. It's a charming historic house within walking distance of Edinburgh's major sights. I highly recommend staying here!

The bed was comfortable and the people were friendly, so I'd still recommend this nice place. It was -2 degrees, and the heating was switched off overnight because there weren't enough people to keep the central heating on. To be fair, I was given an oil heater. It took a while to warm the room, but if left on it kept things warm enough. Breakfast finishes at 9am, which was too early for me to catch it when I had events that ended at 2am.

The host, a lovely gentleman, was kind, welcoming and attentive, and made us feel right at home. Breakfast was delicious, freshly prepared, and had plenty of choice. We also enjoyed the live Scottish music in the evening, a really special and heartwarming experience with beautiful videos of Scotland. Thanks for the hospitality, it made a memorable part of our Scotland trip. Highly recommended!

Our first-floor room was spotless and surprisingly quiet, a nice place to unwind after being out all day. Breakfast was simple but tasty, and the service was excellent. The host sang traditional Scottish songs in the evening, with short videos and fun facts and stories about Scotland. That was such a cool surprise. We hadn't realised the house was over 200 years old before arriving, and its historic character made the stay feel special. Definitely recommend it for a quiet, clean place with a distinctively Scottish feel.
