Dakota Forth Bridge

The buffet breakfast had lots of choices, and dinner was lovely too. The staff at the Dakota were superb, polite, professional, and friendly. We had a short stay just before Christmas 2025, my husband, daughter, and I, and were very happy with our two rooms. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and the en-suites lovely. Thank you for making the visit so enjoyable. We'd definitely stay at the Dakota again and thoroughly recommend it.

We booked a suite for a birthday night at a hotel we usually love, but the service felt nowhere near as good as it used to. At check-in, the card machine was first set to the wrong amount. My wife caught it just in time, as it would have charged us over £27000 for the night. Once corrected, we were still overcharged by £10. At the bar, we were abruptly told to sit down and wait for table service. We did, but nobody came over for more than 20 minutes, so we left and asked reception to send a drink to our room. The usual evening turndown service didn't happen either. I also asked about breakfast room service and was told it wasn't possible. I called today because the £50 room deposit hadn't been returned. They said it would take 3 to 5 days, which hadn't been explained at check-in. A really disappointing stay.

The room was spotless, with a great shower, massive TV, comfy bed, and excellent coffee and tea facilities. The temperature control worked really well too. Staff were helpful and friendly. For an overnight stay, this is one of the best places I've been, if not the best. 10/10.

We had a three-course Sunday lunch that was excellent, the best Sunday lunch we've had in a very long time. Since it was our anniversary, they gave us complementary Champagne, and the service was exceptional. At least three staff looked after us, and nothing was too much trouble. At the end they brought a plate with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate, Turkish delight, and chocolates. A very nice touch. We were given a Dinner Bed &Breakfast voucher and chose to stay Sunday to Monday, with a late Sunday lunch and Bed & Breakfast. Reception welcomed us warmly and explained everything. Our room was very clean and had all we needed. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of choice and great service too. Thank you to Kirsty and all the staff. We'll definitely come back. Ann and Andy Brown
