The carpet in our downstairs room smelled old and damp, and it was on floor -1. From the photos of the two-room townhouse, we hadn’t expected to be below ground. The website should describe that more clearly. Check-in was also difficult: staff didn’t open the door, and we rang for five minutes. The same thing happened to other guests. On the first day the staff attitude wasn’t welcoming, and overall it felt too expensive for what we got.

The evening breeze through our two bay view windows was wonderful, and we could see the North Sea. The hotel is gorgeous, with ceilings around 25-30 feet high and huge rooms. It all looks historical, but feels comfortable and luxurious, and everything is so well done. Even the towels are gigantic and fluffy, and the water pressure is amazing.

The bar was superb, and the staff were excellent. The room was great, and the kids loved the pool room. Excellent, well done hapimag.

The staff were attentive, and the hotel was very comfortable, quiet, and good. My room was huge, though it got chilly at times. It’s worth the extra cost as a one-off stay, or if you can afford somewhere higher end.

The honesty room is stocked with loads of snacks and drinks, even vegan cheese, though there’s nowhere to eat at the hotel. My room was more like an apartment, with a microwave, mini refrigerator, and coffee maker. The rooms are enormous compared with the small ones you often find in the UK and Europe. It’s an older building, so you’ll hear some noise now and then, but it was great for the price. The location is great too. Highly recommend!
