Hilton Edinburgh Carlton

The Carlton is right by the Royal Mile without being on it, and it's easy to get to Market street and Waverley station via level -4, or North Bridge and Princes St through the main entrance. We stayed five days and really didn't want to leave. Thanks to all the wonderful staff. Our room was fantastic, with big comfortable beds, plenty of workspace and a huge bathroom with both shower and bathtub. We always ask for extra towels and pillows when we travel, but everything we needed was already there. The lifts are a little slow, a minor inconvenience beside the rest of the stay. The front desk made us feel welcome from the start, and Lene and hard working Winnie were especially great. Breakfast and the executive lounge team deserve a thank you too. It's not a busy time of year for an omelette station, but staff were still happy to take orders at the table. The eggs were perfect, coffee exactly how I like it, and they remembered after the first time without me asking. Louise and Stephane were a credit to the hotel, glad to see us each morning and always had time for a chat, or more. Mea culpa 😳

We had a clean, spacious room that worked well for two adults and two kids. The location was amazing, the service was great and breakfast was delicious with a good selection. We'll be back!

The location of the Hilton Edinburgh Carlton is hard to beat, right in the centre, so we could walk almost everywhere. It's a beautiful hotel, and breakfast was really good. We spent most of our time out exploring, so didn't get a chance to try the Executive Lounge. Every employee we met was kind, professional and attentive. Their smiles felt sincere, and they clearly care about their guests and enjoy their work. Edwin from Concierge deserves a special thank you. He helped with our bags and patiently explained how to get to the train station after checkout. He even drew us a map so we wouldn't get lost. Awa was also so kind and helpful, always smiling as she answered our questions. The whole team went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. Thank you!

It's very close to Edinburgh's main attractions and about five minutes from the train station. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere and entrance, and the bedrooms were clean and a good size. There's also a nice whisky shop attached. I'd recommend it and would definitely use it again.
