Old Town Chambers, Autograph Collection

The large balcony overlooking East Princes Street Gardens and the Scott Monument was a highlight, and we enjoyed the view every day. After exploring Edinburgh, it was lovely to come back to somewhere that felt like a private residence. The kids loved it too. We stayed for two weeks in a two-bedroom apartment at Old Town Chambers, and it was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully furnished. Having a washer/dryer combo made packing and everyday life much easier. The staff welcomed us warmly, helped with our massive luggage, and made check-in effortless. The property has a charming historic layout, and walking through the quaint corridors was part of the experience. I’d recommend it for families and longer stays, or anyone wanting space, comfort, and a central location.

Their hospitality made the stay feel personal and welcoming. Old Town Chambers, an Autograph Collection Hotel by Marriott, is a gem in the heart of Edinburgh. The location is hard to beat, right in the Old Town and within walking distance of the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, shops, cafés, and major attractions. We didn’t need transport to explore. The apartments are spacious, beautifully designed, and immaculately clean, with a high-quality feel and amenities that work well for short or longer stays. It felt more like a stylish home than a hotel, with plenty of space to relax.

You’re right on the royal mile, a stone’s throw from Edinburgh Castle and all the shops, pubs and restaurants. The location is second to none. Our room was well equipped with a kitchenette, oven, dishwasher, and washing machine. We didn’t use them, but it was useful having them there, and the extra space made getting dressed easier. Breakfast was included, and the restaurant’s dishes were fantastic and hearty. We didn’t eat dinner there, but the menu looked great, and it was always busy with guests and non-guests alike. The concierge and front desk team were all friendly and helpful. Jake helped us book dinner reservations, and Daniel was the standout, spotting when we needed help before we even asked and going out of his way to find solutions. He’s a real credit to the hotel. If you need a tour guide or driver, ask reception for Adam at AP luxury tours. We took a day trip with him and he was excellent.

The room felt brand new and was spotlessly clean, and we were welcomed with delicious Scottish chocolate bars. It was huge, more like an apartment, with a dining area, large bedroom and bathroom, a living room, kitchen, and sitting room. A washer/dryer is tucked into one cupboard. There’s no elite lounge, but you can opt for breakfast at the charming restaurant next door. The location is incredible, right ON the Royal Mile. Step out and you can see the castle. If you want to be right in the heart of everything, this is the place. We’d definitely stay here again.
