About this property

On the shore of the Firth of Forth, Queensferry is situated ten miles to the north of Edinburgh. So the Premier Inn Hotel Edinburgh (South Queensferry) is the ideal base for venturing into Scotland's first city, or for exploring the majestic landscape of the Lothians. Queensferry has some puzzling traditions, like the procession of the Burry Man and the annual dip in the Firth of Forth. But there are plenty of other things to do, such as a visit to the Georgian splendour of Hopetoun House or Dundas Castle. There are lots of business venues and good transport links. Once you're done for the day, come back to great food at our Brewers Fayre restaurant and a lovely comfy bed. All reservations placed at this hotel are subject to Premier Inn’s standard Terms and Conditions, which can be found at premierinn. com

I’ve stayed here before and like it because it’s a short walk down to the town and quayside. It meets the usual Premier Inn standards: clean, quiet and well staffed. I accidentally found an observation deck at the top of the staircase, and the views over the Forth are great. I’m sure many guests don’t know it’s there. The litter around the car park and entrance was disappointing, with empty plastic bottles and cigarette ends to step around. It makes a poor first impression. This seems to happen at popular Premier Inns with tradies and roadmen, but hopefully it doesn’t take away from the hotel itself.

Good value for money, with clean rooms and bathrooms and plenty of free parking. The staff were welcoming and friendly at reception and in the restaurant. It’s well placed for getting to nearby scenic areas. They provided a kids’ cot when we requested one at the time of booking. Booking is recommended.

Carrie at reception was a real asset. She helped with a taxi, iron, food recommendations and the best transport links to the stadium. The room was a standard Premier Inn one, clean, tidy and fresh. The location worked well for where we needed to be. I’d recommend it.

The bed was rock hard. After one night I woke with a pulled neck muscle that caused severe pain for the next two days of our visit. I could barely turn my neck, which made the days really frustrating. On the plus side, getting in and out of the rooms was easy. Nothing else stood out. The location was quite out of the way, though that was our fault for not checking properly before booking. The room was only okay, and definitely not spotless. It felt like the cleaners did a few areas and missed most of the rest. One towel had fresh marks on it, and the bathroom needed a proper scrub. And the shower curtain, why are these still used in hotels in 2026? It felt unhygienic, especially since it was so long it fell right into the shower. After so many guests, who knows what it’s seen, and yes, I did wonder how many people had peed on it, myself included 😬. It was so thin it might as well have been decorative, and water went everywhere. There was no extraction fan either, so the bathroom quickly became a sauna.
