Richmond Park Hotel

Kelsey, the event coordinator, made organising my 50th birthday party here easy. Nothing seemed too much trouble for her. Everyone we dealt with, from check-in and the bar to housekeeping, was superb and left a great impression of the hotel. The function suite was a lovely venue, and I’d happily host another event here. The room we had was very clean and the bed was comfortable, though it felt a little tired. Some fixtures could use attention, including the bathroom door handle.

The room was warm and comfortable, though a bit dated and worn. All the staff were friendly, including the manageress. I’ve stayed in nicer hotels, but also much worse ones, and I’d stay here again if I’m back in the area.

The place was very clean and tidy, but I hardly slept over two nights because the single beds were so uncomfortable. The mattresses were very firm, and the cheap foam pillows made things worse. I ended up using the little cushions from the chair. When I asked for other pillows, I was told those were the only ones they had. Maybe bring your own.

The room looked nice and was mostly clean, but the bathroom seals were grimy and the showerhead was filthy, so I didn’t use it. Staff were friendly and helpful when I could find them, though I wasn’t keen on having to go to the bar to find someone for check-in. It felt like the bar took priority over the hotel 🤷‍♂️. The room was quite loud, like sleeping in a boiler cupboard. For the price, I can’t complain too much, but there are some downsides to consider.
