The Inn On The Mile

The check-in service really stood out. A dark-haired woman with glasses was incredibly friendly and attentive, and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. The hotel was clean and comfortable, in a great location, and the food was delicious. My partner had the loaded fries, while I had steak frites, cooked to perfection and served with a smile. One of my best hotel stays. Highly recommend!

Disappointed by the olives: £5 for a bowl of jarred ones, not even fresh. This is basically a small, overpriced bar serving food. We weren't welcomed or shown to a seat, and no one came to take our order, so we ordered at the bar and carried the drinks to our table. It could be a much better bar with a few small changes.

I stopped at their restaurant for avocado toast and coffee because I was having trouble with my international card, and most places around were cashless. The food was a lovely bite, and the gentleman who took my order was great. Thank goodness they accept cash!

The room was quiet, spacious, and had comfortable twin beds, with the toilet and shower in separate rooms. My mother and I had a fantastic two-night stay at The Inn on the Mile. The restaurant downstairs served good food. We had dinner there one night and breakfast both mornings, with both a brekkie menu and à la carte options. The staff were super friendly and helped with our bags. There is no lift, so ask for a lower floor if stairs are a problem. We were on the top floor, 78 stairs up, but that was fine for us. The location was perfect for exploring Edinburgh. We'd happily stay again next time we're in the city.
