The Original Rosslyn Hotel

The Sunday roast was excellent and good value. Our server, a young woman, was a star: friendly, attentive and made us feel welcome. The other staff we encountered were professional too, though we had less contact with them. Thanks to everyone, we’re looking forward to coming back.

It’s dog friendly, which was lovely to see, and the staff helped make my sister’s 60th really special. I’d arranged a surprise lunch: she first booked for four, then I changed it to 12, and the staff did a great job keeping it secret. During the meal they were attentive and happy to help with anything. Highly recommend them, and I’ll be back for a much less stressful lunch soon 😁. 10/10.

The food and drinks were excellent, and the service was about as nice as it gets. We came for dinner with our two dogs, who were genuinely welcome. They even have a dog menu. The cosy atmosphere was lovely too. We’ll definitely come back before our vacation is over.

We made a point of returning to this restaurant on our recent Scotland trip. A decade ago, we’d dropped in while visiting Rosslyn Chapel and the food made such an impression that we kept talking about it. It was just as good this time. The place feels like home, with a wonderful atmosphere. I had steak pie with big, tender pieces of beef and great puff pastry; my wife’s fish and chips was flaky and really tasty. Both came with French Fries (chips) and a veg. We’ll be back next time we’re here.
