The welcome from Faith was a real highlight. She was warm, kind, and professional from the moment I arrived, and made everything feel easy. In the morning, the reception team were lovely too, especially a friendly Polish woman whose name I didn’t catch. She was smiling and ready to help. My room was 130 on the first floor, and it was quiet at night, warm, and very comfortable. The gym is great for a quick workout. I stay here whenever I’m in Edinburgh and would absolutely recommend it.

The two-bedroom aparthotel was lovely, the staff were pleasant, and the stay itself was nice. The parking was the problem, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone arriving by car. We’d paid £350 a night and arrived with bags and two children, without cash. The hotel’s parking machine only took cash, and when we asked whether giving them our registration could exempt us, they said no. A staff member immediately warned us that attendants came around quickly, so my husband went down the street to find a card machine. He paid £20 for parking until 6:30 pm, after which it was free until 8:35 the next morning. We reached the car at 8:38 and already had a £100 fine issued at 8:37. Be prepared to keep getting up to pay again, and for the surrounding attendants to be quick with fines. It made an already expensive stay even more costly.

Hana made a big difference to our trip. She welcomed us warmly, helped us plan day trips, and shared local knowledge that helped us make the most of our time in Edinburgh. The apartment was clean, modern, and had what we needed, with a nice balance of comfort and independence. We also loved the location in the middle of the city, close to attractions, restaurants, and lovely walking routes. We’d gladly return to Wilde Aparthotels Edinburgh — Grassmarket and recommend it as a comfortable base.

We had a great view of the castle, and the hotel was well placed for the main Edinburgh sights. Staff were incredibly friendly and the price was reasonable. The Christmas decorations made reception feel cosy, and the area stayed clean and never seemed too busy. In the room, the blind’s buttons didn’t work so we had to adjust it by hand, though it did block the morning light well. The amenities were otherwise very welcome. A couple of things let the room down: dirty plates and cutlery in the dishwasher smelled awful, and there were food-covered spoons mixed in with the clean utensils. Also, paying extra for coffee felt a bit cheap, and the £20 early check-in charge seemed unnecessary, though I understand why it’s there. Still, I’d recommend the hotel to visitors.
