This is a typical Premier inn, with great staff and easy parking. The curtains in our room didn’t meet in the middle, but we mentioned it to reception and it was fixed by the time we got back. The hill up to the city centre is quite steep.

We were in town for a family wedding and stayed two nights. The hotel was very good. We didn’t try dinner, so can’t comment on the evening meal. The room and bed were comfortable, though the bed was a little high for one of us. We prefer having the rooms cleaned daily, which was available. The manager is clearly hands-on. I saw them keeping an eye on breakfast, which was very good, then trying to arrange a taxi for a guest when the firm wasn’t answering, and also cleaning up a spill. The location is convenient for walking to Town Hall for the wedding and right beside a lovely park. All in all, a very good stay.

The people here really made our stay nice. Everyone was lovely, from the front desk to the restaurant team and chefs. They were so friendly and helpful. Thanks for all the hard work, we really appreciate it.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I stayed for one night on 7th October and the duty manager working that day and night went well beyond her role. She was amazing. The hotel was clean and decorated beautifully for Halloween. If Premier Inn sees this, I hope she gets a reward, she absolutely deserves one. She had dark hair and a nose piercing. She was fabulous.

We had an easy, trouble-free stay over Christmas. The staff were lovely and the rooms were clean. I’d recommend it.
