Breakfast was the best part of our stay. The food, staff and view were all outstanding. Plenty of choice, always hot and replenished, and the vegan sausages and hash browns were divine. We were impressed overall on our first stay at a Marriott. The rooms were relaxing, with a huge TV and big, very comfortable beds. The bathrooms were stylish, though ours smelled a little of pee and had some nasty limescale and mould build-up on the shower shelf. Both are easy enough to sort, so I won’t mark it down too much. We arrived around 9:45 on Friday night after a 4.5-hour drive from London. Two young guys at check-in greeted us pleasantly, but after asking if we’d stayed before and hearing we hadn’t, they just gave us a key and directions. We expected a little introduction to the hotel. They didn’t mention the bar was still open for food and drinks, which would’ve been appreciated after the drive. By the time we came back down, it had closed. Later, one of the guys let us buy two waters, though there was free spring water on tap at the end of the bar. A small heads-up would’ve been nice. 8/10, Room #517

The restaurant staff were a real highlight. Meya and her team were friendly and chatty, and clearly enjoyed their jobs, which is unusual to see at a hotel chain. Ordering through the app was easy, and the attentive staff were nearby if needed. I ate at the third-floor restaurant that evening and didn’t need a booking. Checking in and checking out were both very easy, and all the staff were friendly. My second-floor room, as requested, was bright and clean, with great air conditioning and the best toiletries ever. Parking was free once I registered my car. I was there for a meeting and will definitely stay again. A very nice experience.

Breakfast was delicious, which is unusual for a hotel buffet. I even thanked the chef this morning. I’ve never had scrambled egg this good, and the sausages were premium. I’d absolutely stay again and recommend it to others. The hotel was spotless, from the lobby to the hallways, and my room was lovely, with a comfortable bed, desk and chair, tea and coffee facilities, a small fridge and a small wardrobe. The bathroom was really nice too, with a big shower and lovely premium toiletries.

Breakfast was amazing, and the hotel feels very modern and luxurious. But my room made the stay uncomfortable. I was in room 140 on the first floor, where the air conditioner was broken and the window couldn't be opened. The air felt really hard to breathe. I heard from colleagues in other first-floor rooms that they had the same problem. On my second day I asked about a repair, but maintenance said it couldn't be fixed and there was an issue with the first-floor air conditioners. They brought me a fan, which helped with the heat, but didn't give me fresh air.

The staff were attentive, the lifts worked really efficiently, and free parking was very welcome. We also liked the choice of bars and restaurants. The rooms were lovely, and that powerful hairdryer was a highlight! Breakfast was good quality, great value, and had plenty of variety. A great hotel in a good location.
