The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped, with a stocked tea tray and bathroom supplies. It was nicely quiet despite the cars in the car park, helped by the air-con and an opening window. The winter duvet felt too heavy for me. We paid £24 for bed and included breakfast, which was great value for our Sunday night. Prices vary a lot with demand, so the same room can cost much more on other dates. If you choose carefully and don’t mind getting takeaway to eat in the bar, the value is hard to beat. The breakfast spread was extensive, with better-than-average bacon and sausages. A couple of items could’ve been hotter, though we were among the last in, and service stopped at an unusually early 9:30. Perhaps that’s because of the workers and early departures. The pancake machine, which dispenses onto a conveyor belt, was a novel hit. I could’ve eaten six, though there might be a queue in high season. Tea, coffee and fresh orange juice were unlimited and could cover a good chunk of the cost on their own. There were lots of vans in the car park and workers sitting around the bar, which may have been because it was a Sunday. We arrived around 9:30 after driving most of the day, but the bar had no food, although the website said food was available whenever the bar was open. Reception suggested Just Eat or a similar service. We ordered Domino’s across the road and staff actively encouraged us to eat in the bar or reception area. Holiday Inn seems to be missing an opportunity here, since workers arrive steadily late in the evening and could bring in more food business.

We were there after a very last-minute family emergency, and the night staff were so friendly and helpful given the sad circumstances. I didn’t catch their names. We called the man we met “Jack Black”; we stayed Friday the 20th. The room was clean, with a very comfortable bed, decent pillows and a good hot shower. Breakfast had a great selection, and it felt like the management wanted staff to keep standards high. “Jack Black” wished us well, a thoughtful gesture that meant a lot.

Jordan gave us a fantastic welcome. He looked up our old membership number, added points to our booking and sorted out parking, all with a smile. The place was very clean and felt like a fairly new building. Our budget twin room was above average, and all the appliances were in good condition and working. Everyone was friendly, and breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend, and I’d stay again.

A good choice if you need to stay near Exeter Airport, just a five-minute drive away. Check-in was easy, the room was clean and had everything we needed, and breakfast was included. We left at 5:30 am, before the full breakfast starts at 6:30, but they still looked after us with cereal, toast, croissants and hot drinks. The staff member on duty was very attentive. Parking costs £6 if you get a code from reception, though the room rate is very reasonable.

We stayed three nights in January 2026, and the staff and service were exceptional. Our first room had an unpleasant bathroom smell and a small leak. I told Alex, the hotel manager, the next morning, and he immediately moved us to another room. While my husband was at work, Alex helped me carry all our luggage and even offered us a voucher for two drinks. We had dinner in the small restaurant one evening. Leigh Anne was on as waitress and was incredibly friendly and helpful. We wanted a custom item, and she was happy to work out a solution. My husband forgot his Garmin charger and the band ran out of charge. When he explained the problem at reception, Craig smiled and asked how he could help. He brought out a big box of cables, and there was a Garmin charger in it. We’re really grateful for everyone’s kindness and the extra effort that made our stay easy and pleasant. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the buffet breakfast was included in the price, which made it great value for us. The coffee machine sometimes played up, but the breakfast staff were helpful and got it working again. The pancake machine was good too. We’ll use Holiday Inn Express again, and hopefully they all have staff like this.
