The food made a real impression on me, especially the fish and chips, cheesy garlic bread, and Mauritian rice curry. Everything I tried was tasty and seemed carefully prepared. I also found the room clean, cozy, and comfortable, and the hotel was very dog-friendly, which was a big plus. The staff were warm and sociable from the moment I arrived. They were always ready to chat, help, or suggest places to visit, which made the stay feel relaxed. It’s also well placed for nearby towns, restaurants, and attractions, including the The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction. I had a great time and would gladly come back.

Our daughter was delighted to find the little Beatrix potter books in the family room, and the bunk beds worked really well. The staff were friendly and attentive, and they remembered her dietary requirements. The evening meal was excellent, and it was great that the inn welcomed dogs. After chilly walks, the hot shower with good pressure was just what we needed. The location made getting around easy, with the ferry to bowness only two minutes away and Grizedale, Hawkshead, and Wray castle all handy. We’d happily stay again. Thanks for a lovely holiday ❤️.

We felt very welcome here, and the dog got plenty of that welcome too. It’s a lovely family place, and the location is handy for Hill Top Beatrix Potters house and Hawkshead, with Windermere and Bowness an easy trip on the short ferry. Our room was lovely, with a great view, a comfortable bed, and a stylish bathroom. We ate in the restaurant both nights because the food was so good. The curry stood out, and there were vegan and vegetarian choices. The waitress noticed I’d ordered vegetarian the previous evening and offered me a vegetarian cooked breakfast. That was excellent, as was the porridge I had the next day, probably the best hotel porridge I’ve had. A genuinely dog-friendly hotel.

The cosy, proper Country pub feel was just right for our birthday Sunday lunch. We came as a group of 20, and the attentive front of house team and chef made the day special. The Sunday roasts were eye-popping, and the food was fantastic. Thankyou to everyone for such a lovely meal.

We stayed for three nights in the family room, from 30th dec -2nd jan. The huge 6ft bed was great, and the girls had bunks. The hotel was immaculately clean, and the rooms, service, staff, food, surroundings, and location were all fabulous. I ran to boweness on Windermere lake every day and loved the incredible views. It’s a walkers paradise and a great spot for dog lovers. We don’t have pets, but that didn’t matter at all, the animals were adorable and well behaved. We’ll definitely come back in the summer. Thankyou all so much 💓 💖
