I left one star because there was no option for zero. The room was filthy: stains on the bed, hairs in the cups, mold everywhere, a broken kettle, and carpet that didn't even reach the walls. I was booked in for three nights through work, but found another place as soon as I saw it. Two days later, while I was in an important meeting, the hotel called to ask why I wasn't staying there, why my bags weren't in the room, and whether I would be back that night. I had to step out to take the call. I went back to complain and explain that what I did during the three days I'd booked was my business. I asked for my check-in document back because I wasn't confident they were following GDPR. I'd never given a hotel my passport number and phone number before, and at check-in they'd asked for my passport number, registration number, address, and telephone number. They spent 20 minutes talking about staff policy, while showing me other guests' check-in documents, which was an immediate GDPR breach and proved my point. The couple speaking to each other in their native language ignored me and my questions. The woman refused to return the original, so I left with a scanned copy. I paid £400 for another hotel rather than stay in that hell hole. The staff were disrespectful, the room was disgusting, and the location was rough.

The room was tiny, the internet didn't work, and the toilet was a long way down the hall beside reception. I could hear the neighbours for most of the night, then just as I finally got to sleep, an alarm in the hallway woke me again. Don't stay here!

Being so close to the university worked really well for us, since most hotels are much farther away. We had the four-person room on the first floor, and it was clean, quiet, and cozy. The hosts were welcoming and kind, always ready to help. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back.

For an affordable, easy one-night stay, this did the job. We were in a basement room with one double bed and one single. The beds were fine, and the small bathroom had the basics. Staff were friendly, and check-in and checkout were easy. It's in a great spot, and we spent most of our time out exploring. Nothing fancy, so keep your expectations modest.

With just six rooms, the hotel felt quiet, intimate, and cozy. My room was tidy and very clean. It's easy to get around Glasgow from here: the subway is three blocks away, the University of Glasgow is a 10-minute walk, and there are plenty of excellent pubs, cafes, and restaurants within five blocks. The owner and his wife were both kind and accommodating whenever I needed anything. They offered suggestions, called cab companies for me, and gave directions to places where I could get what I needed. I'd happily stay here again.
