Marriott Hotel Glasgow

We were here for a work event with just over 300 people, and the staff did a great job looking after everyone. They were attentive and helpful, and the three-course meal was really nice and good quality. The hotel itself is modern and clean, with a lovely atmosphere. We didn't stay overnight, though colleagues who did were very pleased with their accommodation. The location is handy for the city centre and ideal for the Hydro.

Our original hotel plans fell through, so we booked here at the last minute and loved the Rowallan suite. It was large, spotless, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was good, even better on the second day. The breakfast staff were lovely, and one morning when I went down for coffee, they offered me a bag for a pastry while I waited to eat later. We didn't try either restaurant, so I can't comment on them. Everyone we met, from housekeeping to front of house, was friendly and helpful, always greeting us with a smile. A few small requests were handled promptly, including a slightly later checkout because of our late flight. The executive lounge was clean and had complimentary soft drinks and Nespresso coffee. It's a five-minute walk to the city centre and close to the Hydro, which was why we were visiting. One little thing: the desk mirror area was rather dark for getting ready, and a lamp would help. We've stayed in plenty of hotels, and this was a wonderful experience for us.

The hotel looks stunning and is only a 10-minute walk from the main attractions. Our family room was a good size and looked great, and breakfast was really good. Still, finding bottle tops under the bed made us question how thoroughly the room had been cleaned. The beds were much too firm, and the duvets very thin. I've got a firm mattress at home, but this felt like sleeping on a door. The shower and tap switch also took the strength of the incredible hulk to operate.

At the Marriott Glasgow, the reception team really made my stay. Harshita and Rafela were welcoming, professional, and so helpful, making check-in easy and answering any questions I had. Their warm manner made me feel valued. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and its location made it easy to enjoy the city. I'd recommend it and look forward to staying again.
