voco Grand Central, Glasgow

We arrived late for my 23rd birthday and were welcomed by really friendly staff, who offered drink vouchers and sweets. The room was immaculate, though a bit small, and the TV mirror with built-in Bluetooth and speaker was very cool. The bathroom was cool too. The bar was spacious and lovely, and the central Glasgow location was surprisingly quiet. I couldn't fault the stay. Highly recommend, especially with the good offers for IHG members.

The only things I missed were an ice machine and a fridge in the room. I think the IHG hotel should rethink its green agenda. Otherwise, the room was quiet and comfortable, with working heat and air conditioning, a thermostat that did its job, and quick room service. The staff were great. It's right downtown by 24-7 stores, in an elegant spot attached to Glasgow Central Station, with trains to Edinburgh, London, or Ayr close at hand. Beds are soft, and the showers can be warm or hot, depending what you prefer.

The team surprised my wife and me with a lovely card and gift to celebrate the arrival of our first baby. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and it made us both very happy. I'm sure the baby was happy too 😂. I've stayed at almost all the hotels in Glasgow, and voco Glasgow is honestly the best one I've experienced. From now on, it's my favourite hotel in the city.

I had to climb a flight of stairs with 30kg of luggage to reach the room I was assigned. I was physically fit enough to manage, but if you're in a wheelchair or need assistance, let the front desk know and perhaps someone can help. I was only there for a night while waiting for a train. The room was clean and comfortable, the toilet was stylish, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel had a great holiday vibe.
