The hosts were nice, and the place was pleasant, quiet and clean. For the £75 a night I paid, it felt worthwhile, with a good location near the Tor and Chalice Well. It's about a 15-minute walk into town, which I hadn't realised when booking. As a woman on my own, walking in the dark in winter after 4pm felt a bit daunting. Breakfast is self-catering, with cereal, bread and tea available to help yourself to in the kitchen. Shoes aren't allowed in the house, which is fair enough, but meat and fish aren't allowed at all either. I hadn't known that, so bringing fish and chips back wasn't an option. There's also a no-noise rule after 10. The bathrooms were clean but could use updating, as could the bedrooms. The mattress by the window in my twin room facing Tor had seen better days. There are no TVs, though kettles are provided in the rooms.

This was my second lovely stay at Camelot. It's a quiet house in a peaceful spot, and I like having the self-catering breakfast option.

I could see the Tor from my bedroom window, and the quiet residential neighborhood felt safe. It's close to everything, with a lovely garden and sitting area among the trees and shrubs. I absolutely loved the meditation room! Cathy was warm, friendly and supportive, and looked after everything so well. The house is clean, with shoes off at the entrance and a locked front door. The bedroom has an inside latch. There are two modern, clean and well-kept shower rooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. The rooms are bright, airy and simply decorated. The kitchen is well equipped, with a communal fridge and freezer plus a small private one, and the dining room has a big window. On arrival, you can park in the driveway, which fits two small cars. Street parking is snug but doable. Some guests have stayed before, and I can see why. It was a lovely place to call home for a little while.

We were given a warm welcome, and the property is in a lovely, convenient location. It has a lot of potential, but needs considerable attention to reach a suitable standard. The website photos and description didn't match the rooms and gardens as they currently look. It also wasn't clear that guests make their own breakfast. The bedding and towels were old and poor quality, and cleanliness and general hygiene need improvement. During our two-night stay, the shared bins in the kitchen and bathrooms weren't emptied, and the communal hand towels and bath mats weren't changed. The shared bathroom shower was very hard to control, getting dangerously hot at times or very cold.

The best part was the welcoming, calming atmosphere. The women I met were lovely and came from all over the world, and it was refreshing to spend time together talking about things we had in common. Being left to ourselves, it felt like having housemates for the weekend. The retreat was kept very clean, and I had a really good sleep in the lovely, spacious Egyptian room. My friend and I had a peaceful weekend in Glastonbury at the Camelot Retreat. It's around a 15-20 minute walk to the centre. Jaya messaged me the day before to introduce herself and share the check-in times, and left a little welcome note for my friend and me in the room, a personal touch I appreciated. The bed was a little broken, with the mattress dipped on one side, but I slept on the other side and was comfortable. The upstairs floorboards creak, though it didn't really bother me. I really enjoyed the weekend and my friend and I will definitely come back next year. Thank you, Jaya x
