The room was spotless, spacious, and lovely, and I enjoyed dinner and breakfast. The service was friendly and pleasant, and Horman was lovely in the morning, making sure everything was OK. I hope to visit again and would recommend it. I hadn’t realised parking wasn’t free, so I paid £5 per day. The hotel, bar, and restaurant were really nice.

The atmosphere at Oakwood Hotel was warm and relaxed, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful the whole time. We had a family meal there and every dish was cooked perfectly. The food was amazing, and everyone enjoyed it. We all left saying what a fabulous evening it was. We’ll definitely be back and would recommend Oakwood Hotel for great food and service.

The staff at Oakwood made us feel very welcome, and we had a lovely weekend away. Our room was clean and good value, though the decor is a little dated. It was quiet and had everything needed for a short break when using the hotel as a base for the city centre. There’s a bus stop two minutes away, and the large on-site car park is secure. Good facilities too, including a restaurant and bar. Thanks for a lovely stay.

For £41 a night, I can’t complain. I got a fantastic night’s sleep because the hotel was silent and the room pitch dark. The staff stood out: the receptionist gave me one of the warmest welcomes I’ve had, and the barmaid was just as friendly and helpful. When I couldn’t work the remote, she took it off me and sorted the TV, without even mocking me for being an old fart. I’d booked last minute after a long day in bad weather, and the hotel was perfectly placed for easy access to the M5. It’s seen better days, though, with tired, worn decor and furnishings. My room was big, but the bathroom was worn and had a strong, feisty smell. To be fair, the hotel is having building work done, so who knows what it’ll look like in the future.

We had a family birthday party today, with 20 people in our group, and everyone left satisfied. The table was nicely laid and there was a good choice on the menu. I had the Sunday roast turkey, one of the best roast dinners I’ve had, followed by a tasty chocolate caramel tart. The service was brilliant. Well done to all the staff, I’ll certainly go again.
