The hotel was quiet and dog friendly, with clean, comfortable beds and a spotless, brand new bathroom. It’s handy for the motorway and works well as a stop on the way north for the price. Cleckheaton looked a bit depressing on a gloomy autumn evening, though it might be nicer in better weather, and the food nearby seemed mostly takeaway or fast food.

Shazia was especially kind, checking that we felt comfortable and looked after, and her thoughtful attention made the visit memorable. The hotel and marquee sit in a peaceful, scenic spot, with green areas for walks, a lovely deck for tea, and plenty of parking. Everyone was welcoming and the service was excellent. A lovely hidden gem!

The greenery around the venue made for a lovely atmosphere, and the waiters and other staff were absolutely lovely. Shazia was a wonderful hostess, going around to check that every guest was okay. Thank you!

I have a lot of fond memories here from more than nine years of staying, first weekly for four years and then now and again after Covid. Under the new owners, though, I found the service impersonal and poor, which was a real disappointment. I asked my team to raise my concerns directly with the hotel management, but I’m not confident they’ll listen. It’s a very sad day for me.

The setting was spectacular, and the weather was just right, which was a bonus. It made our engagement day extra special. This would be a perfect venue for a small engagement or birthday party, and it can host up to 500 guests.
