The Old Cock Inn has a warm, relaxed atmosphere that works for a casual meal or a special occasion. The food was excellent, from the pub classics to the seasonal dishes, all fresh, full of flavour and carefully prepared. Portions were generous, and everything was beautifully presented. The team were friendly and attentive from the moment we arrived, always ready to help without hovering. We were genuinely impressed by both the service and the food, and I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended.

We had a really good stay and would recommend it. Our room was clean, comfortable and a very good size, and the pub itself is reasonably large with friendly staff. We were in the area for a surprise birthday party nearby, so we didn’t have drinks there. Breakfast was great, and with breakfast and checkout both at 11am, there was no rush. The market setting up on Sunday morning did wake us, though that can’t be helped. We found free on-street parking on the road towards Lydekker park, where there’s more parking too. Parkopedia can give you an idea of prices and available times. We’d consider staying again when we’re back in the area.

Lunch at The Old Cock was excellent. It was our first visit, and my friend and I were impressed by the freshly prepared, well presented food and the very reasonably priced menu. The staff were attentive without intruding, and the ambience was excellent. We’ll be back, and I’d definitely recommend it.

Dinner with my friends at The Old Cock Inn was made memorable by Abby. She was warm and professional, welcoming and attentive, and made sure we had what we needed without rushing us. The food was great too, but her service really stood out. Thanks, Abby, for making our night out even better.

The beer was nice, but I was disappointed by the food. My steak had no flavour, my partner’s lasagna was a gooey slop, and the BLT bread my friend got was toasted so hard it hurt his teeth to eat it. I wasn’t impressed.
