Two Brewers

The service was attentive and very friendly, and everything tasted nice enough. I was a little disappointed with Sunday lunch, though: my roasties seemed to be scraps from the end of the tray, and there wasn't enough gravy.

The pub itself was lovely, with fantastic food and staff, and we really liked the area. The location is great. Room 202 was the problem: the boiler was noisy enough to keep us awake, and there was mould in the bathroom, especially around the WC and shower, so it felt uncomfortable to use. A bottle of water in the room would have helped too, since I woke thirsty and wasn't sure the tap water was safe. With those room issues, we probably wouldn't stay again.

Five of us ate there, and the soup, pie and desserts were delicious. My toad in the hole was let down by a Yorkshire pudding that was so hard I had to leave most of it. My daughter in law also left most of her chicken burger because the grilled chicken was dry and chewy. We stayed one night at the two brewers and had dinner there. The staff were polite, friendly and extremely helpful. The room was pleasant enough, though a little tired, particularly the bathroom.

We had a dog with us, so they sat us in the bar area. The place was filthy, and given what we paid, both the food and atmosphere were very disappointing. We're local to this pub in a beautiful location, but we won't be tempted to go back. We'd booked a table, but could only speak to a Scottish computer.
